Biography
Dr. Sladeczek’s primary area of expertise lies in the evaluation of diverse intervention paradigms that focus on Early Intervention (EI) for children with developmental delays and/or children with behavior difficulties or disorders. She is spearheading (along with Research Director Mr. Daniel Amar of the Yaldei Developmental Center in Montreal, Canada) a national project that focuses on EI policy, practice, and services for children with developmental delays. More specifically, a dynamic assessment of EI policy and practice is being undertaken with the goal of creating a paradigm shift amongst key stakeholders involved in the EI continuum. Furthermore, Dr. Sladeczek is one of the few researchers in Canada to investigate the efficacy of problem-solving consultation with parents and teachers of children with behavioral problems only and those with developmental delays and behavioral difficulties. Her research efforts have been or are currently supported by funding from the Max Bell Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, SSHRC, and FCAR and she has published numerous articles. She is editorial board member of the Journal of Psychological and Educational Consultation and the Canadian Journal of School Psychology, and has functioned as a guest reviewer for other major journals within the field of school psychology.
