A neurologist is a specially trained physician that diagnoses and treats nervous system disorders, whether caused by injury or disease, including diseases of the nerves, brain, spinal cord and muscles(49). Neurologists deal with disorders ranging from disorders of cognitive function and behaviour to diseases of muscle to disorders(48). They use a variety of clinical tools, ranging from molecular biology through electrophysiology to functional neuroimaging(48). Neurologists have a comprehensive knowledge of the body’s neurological structures and their specific jobs in making the body function(49). There are a wide variety of career opportunities including university-based researcher, staff specialist in a teaching hospital, private practitioner and city or rural practitioner(48).
